Help Australians during difficult times
At some point each year, 1 in 8 Australians are in crisis, dealing with the anguish and despair of not knowing where their next meal is coming from for themselves and their families. It’s hard to believe this is happening in the ‘lucky country’. It’s a predicament largely hidden by stigma and shame, but the reality is it’s not just people on the street, but people in your street. Foodbank restores hope to people who are struggling by rescuing and sourcing food from farmers, manufacturers and retailers, and distributing it through front line charities around the country to people in need. As the largest hunger relief organisation in Australia, Foodbank has the scale and capacity to address the country’s hunger crisis. In spite of our best efforts, however, over 65,000 people are still turned away empty handed each month because demand outstrips supply. This is why, with your help, we strive to do more every day.
