Nearly 1 in 3 female garment factory workers have experienced sexual harassment at work over the last 12 months.
This is a global issue, deeply rooted in unequal power and gender relations. It affects mostly women and girls. Across the Mekong, sexual harassment legislation is weak, often unregulated and poorly implemented.
CARE Australia is working with industry, government, unions and factory workers to prevent and respond to sexual harassment in the garment industry in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam, ensuring violence-free workplaces for women working to support their families.
